Few sports can boast the heritage and camaraderie of Rugby. The
resurgence of its popularity in the US is evidenced by the growth in
youth rugby organizations and clubs, not to mention the efforts being
made at the national level by USRugby et al.
As with all contact sports, it is not without its hazards. Therefore,
when selecting a club for your children, it is imperative that you pay
close attention to a number of key factors. Ensuring the club holds
high standards in safety (including club and player registration and
insurance), refereeing, coaching, and operates in an ethical and
truthful manner are some key points upon which to evaluate your choice.
Here are some perspectives:
Santa Clara Youth Rugby
SCYR coaches are made up of college, club and international players and
are committed to providing you and your family with a first rate
experience. This is a well organized and well structured club.
Los Gatos Lions Youth Rugby
One of the Bay Area's newest youth rugby clubs managed by a great
team of parent volunteers. Has great leadership and vision, it is well
organized and focused on future growth.
Seahawks (Palo Alto) Youth Rugby
A club built on a great lineage of Bay Area rugby. It's run by a pool
of qualified international rugby players and coaches. A little more
expensive that other clubs, but offers value in terms of program,
facilities and training.
